The Western Gallery provides diverse experiences in the visual arts for its constituencies, encompassing the University community and region while providing a point of reference to the national and international art scene. Through historical, contemporary and experimental art exhibitions, through the outdoor collection of contemporary sculpture, through publications and through interpretative interdisciplinary programs, the Western Gallery is committed to creating an environment for learning. The gallery acts as a center for discussion and exchange of ideas on critical issues in contemporary art. The Western Gallery recognizes its role in expanding its audience's awareness of the visual arts as central to the dynamic and pluralistic nature of our society.

Firstly we have tons of paraphernalia employed in Logging, Sailing, and Navigating. For example we have displays featuring shipyards, tugboats, lightships, lifeboats, and battleships. Moreover, there are Fishing Boats, Wooden Ferris “Tramp Ships” and The Great White Fleet.

Open year-round, the Wanapum Heritage Center presents, maintains and continues the Wanapum History and way of life. Visitors to the museum can view numerous displays of Wanapum historical artifacts or watch videos of the Wanapum history and the Columbia River.

The Washington State History Museum is a 106,000 square foot building, designed by architects Charles W. Moore and Arthur Andersson, that opened to the public in 1996. The use of brick and arches in the building design complements the historic warehouses across Pacific Avenue and neighboring Union Station.

The Great Hall of Washington History is a permanent exhibit featuring over 1,600 artifacts, ephemera and photographs that bring to life the intriguing sights, sounds, people and places of Washington State history, as well as their impact on the country and the world.

The History Lab Learning Center is a permanent exhibit that engages visitors with interactive exhibits featuring such historical concepts as Time, Place, Viewpoint, Exploration, and Precedent.
